About Us

Coquina Presbyterian Church was founded in 1985 as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). PCA was founded in 1973 to continue the theology, worship and evangelism of historic Calvinistic and Presbyterian Christianity in the American culture.

The PCA now numbers just over 340,852 members nationwide, in 1,693 churches and missions which contribute over $716 million to the work of worship, Christian education, mercy ministries, and both local & worldwide evangelism. In the year 2008, 10,335 people joined the PCA by profession of faith. And the PCA has 610 full and part-time missionaries serving in 88 countries all over the world.

Worship at Coquina is a blend of a reverent and joyful love for God in singing, prayer, confession, and preaching. We observe the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month, and have both morning and evening worship services on Sunday.

Our mission at Coquina Presbyterian Church is to KNOW God our creator and redeemer, to GROW in depth of spiritual maturity, and to SHOW our love for God by obeying him as we love one another and others in the same way He has sacrificially loved us in the great Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Senior Pastor Neal Ganzel

Cornelius “Neal” J. Ganzel, Jr. has served Coquina as its pastor since 2001. He and his lovely wife Suzanne embraced Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in early 1970’s at the Greenhouse, a ministry outreach of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 1977 they were married at the campus chapel of Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi where they both were students. Just before their wedding, they sensed the Lord’s clear call to leave school so that Neal could pursue the personal maturity they believed God requires of men called into gospel ministry. After a twenty-year marketing and communications career in seaport/airport-related international trade & transportation, Suzanne and Neal were convinced that God was truly calling Neal to the ministry. He was elected a ruling elder, and then taken under care of North Florida Presbytery as a candidate for gospel ministry. He returned to RTS to complete his Master of Divinity degree at the school’s Oviedo, Florida campus. Neal was licensed to preach as a Ruling Elder on the day he was taken under care of the North Florida Presbytery in 1999, and has continually served the Lord Jesus as a preacher/teacher since that time. He served Coquina as its interim preacher during his final year of seminary training before being ordained and installed as Senior Pastor in June 17, 2001.
